Knevate medicine has the main ingredient Clobetasol propionate, prepared in the form of a topical cream, each tube of Knevate 10mg contains Clobetasol propionate 0.05%.

Clobetasol propionate is a synthetic corticosteroid similar to prednisolone, with strong glucocorticoid activity but weak mineralocorticoid activity. Clobetasol propionate is used topically to treat a number of different skin conditions.

Similar to other topical corticosteroids, Clobetasol propionate has anti-inflammatory, itching and vasoconstricting effects. The exact mechanism underlying the anti-inflammatory effects of topical Clobetasol propionate in the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases has not been clearly established. It is possible that Clobetasol propionate induces proteins collectively known as lipocortins, which inhibit phosphorylase A2. These proteins control the biosynthesis of potent inflammatory mediators such as leucotrienes and prostaglandins, by inhibiting the release of arachidonic acid, a common precursor of leucotrienes and prostaglandins. Arachidonic acid is released from membrane phospholipids by phospholipase A2.

How to use KNEVATE CREAM 10gr Treat itching and psoriasis:

– Wash your hands thoroughly.

– Apply a thin layer of Knevate cream and gently massage the affected skin area, 1 – 2 times a day until symptoms subside. After that, reduce the frequency of use or replace it with another corticosteroid with a weaker effect. Repeated short-term treatment with Knevate cream is used to control more severe disease.

– In cases of drug resistance, especially when hyperkeratosis is present, to increase the therapeutic effect of Knevate, the application area can be covered with a polythene film. Overnight occlusion usually achieves the desired therapeutic response. Once your symptoms improve, you can continue using Knevate without bandaging the application area. After using Knevate for 2 – 4 weeks, if there is no response or symptoms become more severe, diagnosis and treatment should be reviewed.

– A course of treatment with Knevate should not exceed 4 weeks. If treatment must be continued, weaker corticosteroids should be used.

– Apply only a sufficient amount of Knevate cream to the affected area, do not use more than 2g at a time. If the affected skin area is large, do not use more than 50g per week.
